When we purchased the hotel in 2003 it was our missionto preserve history for generations to come.  We provide our guests an experience of stepping back to 1886 yet, keeping the modern conveniences.  Make The Schweitzer Hotel your home away from home.

Preserving the building has been a true act of love of, not only the building but, family and history.

In 1953 Kathy's Grandmother purchased a sewing machine.  At that time we are sure she never imagined that it would be used to create period correct curtains for an 1886 hotel.  Kathy, Kirk and Kathy's mom spent weeks reconstructing the curtains for the hotel.

Kirk and Kathy's daughter attended college and received a degree in theatre.  With that degree she has also helped decorate several pieces to coincide with the age.

What a wonderful experience for grandparents, parents and children.  There is an opportunity to play on your devices, entertain or just experience the ambience of what it was like to live in 1886.
